The 405 Aired Feb 13th, 2026

OK Solberg:

I wanna again welcome you to The 405 Coffee Break. It's Friday, Friday the 13th. Guys, get your cup of coffee, glass iced tea, walk under a ladder, and break a mirror, and let's see what's happening today.

OK Solberg:

Spring Wheat $5.29 a bushel. 550lb steer calf $4.95 to $5.05 Wow. That's a lot of money. Butcher hog in Iowa, 63¢ a pound, and a 100lb fat lamb in Billings are going up the last week or two, $2.72 a pound. But, guys, there's more, much more.

OK Solberg:

Like I said, it's Friday the 13th, and do I have an interesting story for you today? Listen to this. Listen to all the 13's that happened. A 13 year old boy was struck by lightning at listen, army time, 13:13 hours on Friday the 13th according to reports. The teen was watching an air show in England when he was struck and was later treated for burns to his shoulders.

OK Solberg:

The United Kingdom's newspaper titled The Mirror said he is expected to fully recover. Rex Clark, leader of the Saint John Ambulance team that treated the child described what happened. Suddenly, there was this huge crack of lightning really close to the seafront and really loud thunder, he told the newspaper. Seconds later, we got a call. Someone had been hit.

OK Solberg:

The boy was breathing and was conscious. He had a minor burn to his shoulder and was taken to a hospital as a precaution. It could have been a lot worse, he said, adding, well, it's a bit strange that he was 13, and it happened at 13:13 on Friday the 13th. Two other spectators were who were standing near the boy when he was hit were treated for minor injuries, the newspaper reported. We were just watching the red arrows and the air display team go past and there was a flash of lightning, one of the wounded boys told the newspaper.

OK Solberg:

I couldn't speak. I was in shock, end of quote. Okay. Now you could say it was bad luck that he got struck on Friday the 13th, but on the other hand, you could say it was good luck because he survived. Actually, if you check it out, quite a lot of good things have happened on Friday the 13th.

OK Solberg:

Did you realize the 1st dinosaur eggs were discovered on Friday the 13th? Yep. It's true. July 13, my brother Marv's birthday.

OK Solberg:

07/13/1923 That very same day, the Hollywood sign was dedicated. This iconic sign was dedicated in Los Angeles originally reading Hollywood Land and it was a temporary advertisement for a housing development, but it was dedicated on Friday the 13th. Now the Internet says in one source that Alfred Hitchcock, the master of suspense, was born on Friday the 13th, 08/13/1889, but that's inaccurate. He was born on 08/13/1899, but it wasn't a Friday. It was a Sunday.

OK Solberg:

Don't believe everything you read on the Internet, but check it out using the Internet. Now on the other hand, Steve Buscemi truly was born on Friday the 13th. Yep. 12/13/1957, same year as I was born. And that you know Steve Buscemi, celebrated actor and a former firefighter.

OK Solberg:

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, born on Friday the 13th, June 13th, Jimmy Murdoch's birthday, but they were born in 1986. According to the Dutch Dutch Center for Insurance Statistics, Friday the 13th is actually statistically safer than other Fridays. Really? Yes. As people tend to be more cautious leading to fewer reported accidents, fires, and thefts.

OK Solberg:

And did you realize the mega million jackpot has been won 7 times on a Friday the 13th? What about that then? Just 3 years ago on Friday the 13th, January 13th 2023 a single ticket in Maine won $1,300,000,000, as in b as in boy, $1,300,000,000, the 2nd largest jackpot in the game's history at that time. Now the the bible doesn't talk about luck. It talks about providence.

OK Solberg:

Like it says in Proverbs 16:33 The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord. Or how about Ecclesiastes 9:11 The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, but time and chance happen to them all. I hope you have a blessed Friday the 13th. Weekend's coming.

OK Solberg:

So until next time, as you go out there, remember now, don't be bitter.
