The 405 Aired Feb 4th, 2026
I wanna again welcome you out of The 04:05 Coffee Break, guys. It is nice out there. Go out and enjoy it. What a beautiful day. Get your cup of coffee, glass iced tea, iced tea or Pepsi, Coca Cola. Mountain Dew. Let's see what's happening.
OK Solberg:$5.77 is the price of Spring Wheat. 550lb steer calf $5 on the top end. Butcher hog in Iowa 62ยข a pound, and a 100lb fat lamb in Billings will fetch you $2.44 a pound, but guys there's more, much more.
OK Solberg:So who you're rooting for in the Super Bowl? What are your Super Bowl Sunday plans? What are you gonna do on Sunday? Do you watch it at home, or do you go to a friend's house? Or are you like, I don't care for the Super Bowl. I don't watch it, and I won't watch it.
OK Solberg:Hey. That's fine too. It's a free country. But the Super Bowl is a big thing to many people. Today, let's look at the history, some of the history of the Super Bowl, and some interesting tidbits.
OK Solberg:But first, a fitting bible verse. Listen now. Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor's crown except by competing according to the rules. 2nd Timothy 2:5 that there is a fine verse for an episode highlighting the football Super Bowl.
OK Solberg:We have to follow the rules. We all know there's referees on the field throwing a flag and I believe the flag is yellow and they throw it if you break the rules. Now with that being said, what infraction, what rule gets broken do you think the most often in football? Think now it's a quiz.
OK Solberg:Football armchair quarterback sit up and pay attention. What infraction happens the most often on the football field? Three seconds. One, two, three. And the answer is easily supported. You can check it out yourself. The answer is OffensiveHolding. Did you get it right? I bet you did. Offensive holding.
OK Solberg:Offensive holding occurs when a player illegally uses their hands or arms to restrain an opponent who doesn't have the ball. So why is it so common? Well, offensive holding happens so frequently because offensive linemen and blockers are constantly engaged with defenders increasing the opportunity for illegal grabs or restraints. Now guys, what's the 2nd most called infraction? What do you think it is?
OK Solberg:You know this one too. False start. And 3rd, defensive pass interference. That's a big one. What about the least called infraction in football?
OK Solberg:That one's a harder one. That'd be the illegal wedge. A wedge happens only on a kickoff return when multiple players line up shoulder to shoulder. Okay. Now we have the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl coming up on Sunday, and it's Super Bowl, nice round number, number 60. Six zero.
OK Solberg:The 1st one happened in 1967, but of course it was for the 1966 season. Now on Sunday, this Sunday, it'll be a repeat of the Super Bowl teams from the year 2015. And if you remember, New England won that game and a close one 28 to 24, but the year before that the Seahawks won the 1st and their only Super Bowl victory against the Denver Broncos in a blowout 43 to 8 in 2014. Now you New England fans and there's a lot of you out there, you want me to report that the New England and the New England Patriots have been in 11 Super Bowls and have won 6 of them, danta da da. Compared to teams that have never been to the Super Bowl, what would they be? Well, that would include the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
OK Solberg:All other teams have at least made an appearance in the Super Bowl. Now listen to these Super Bowl facts. In the 1st Super Bowl in 1967, a 1 minute commercial on TV cost up to $85,000. One minute, $85,000. In 1995, the cost increased, do you know what I'm gonna say, to a million dollars for a one minute spot and sit back and try to get your head around this one folks on Sunday, just a few days away.
OK Solberg:A one minute commercial played during the Super Bowl will cost approximately $16,000,000. I hope to shout and call the doctor. That's offensive. Did you realize that in Super Bowl number one there were 30,000 empty seats? What?
OK Solberg:Yes. And a ticket cost as little as $6 back then. It's true. The game was played in Los Angeles's Memorial Coliseum and it holds roughly 94,000 people and 30,000 seats were vacant, which made it the only Super Bowl in history that did not sell out. Ladies, sit up and pay attention.
OK Solberg:The Super Bowl in 2021, 5 years ago, had the 1st lady to ever officiate as a referee in the Super Bowl, and her name was Sarah Thompson Thomas. And here's the final tidbit. Four NFL teams have at least one Super Bowl win and no Super Bowl losses. They were there and they won and they never returned. Okay?
OK Solberg:At least once. Baltimore Ravens, Tampa Bay buccaneers, New Orleans Saints, and the New York jets. Alright. That's it for today. Go seahawks.
OK Solberg:So until next time, as you go out there, remember now, don't be bitter.
