Okay. Okay. Today I have a list of 10 songs that someone reported were the top 10 songs from 1955 through 1975. Okay? Hear me out and see if you agree. Alright? On the top 100 pop chart. #1 is listed as Bill Haley and his Comets, rock around the clock 1955.

This song helped bring rock and roll into the mainstream. It became the 1st rock and roll recording to reach #1 on the billboard pop chart and its appearance in the movie blackboard jungle, well, that helped make it a teenage anthem.

Next, Elvis Presley, Hound Dog 1956. Elvis recorded Hound Dog after hearing Big Mama Thornton's earlier version. His recording became one of the defining performances of the early rock and roll era, and Elvis turned that song into one of the most recognizable recordings of the 1950's. Next, here we come, Chubby Checker and Do The Twist 1960.

This song didn't just give us something to listen to. It gave us something to dance to. Chubby Checkers version of the twist became a huge hit, and the dance was so simple that, well, just about anyone could do it. Next, here we go. The Beatles, you knew they'd be there. I Wanna Hold Your Hand, 1964.

This was a song that helped introduce the Beatles to an enormous American audience. It reached #1 in The United States and was at the center of the beginning of the Beatlemania in America. Next, we heard this song yesterday on The 405, the Rolling Stones. I Can't Get No Satisfaction 1965.

The opening guitar sound is hard to mistake for anything else. Keith Richards famous fuzz guitar riff helped give the Rolling Stones a sound that was unmistakably their own. Next on the list, the Beach Boys' Good Vibrations 1966. Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys took pop music into something pretty unusual territory with this recording.

It was built from multi recording sessions in different sections that were assembled into the finished song. Next Aretha Franklin Respect 1967. Now Otis Redding wrote and recorded respect 1st but Aretha Franklin's version became the landmark recording.

And then look here the Beatles show up again, the Beatles Hey Jude 1968. Hey Jude was written primarily by Paul McCartney and became one of the Beatles biggest singles. Next can't forget Simon and Garfunkel Bridge Over Troubled Water 1970.

Now the song was written by Paul Simon and sung by, well, Art Garfunkel. It became one of Simon and Garfunkel's signature recordings and won multiple Grammy Awards including record and song of the year.

And the last one rounding it out Stevie Wonder superstition 1973. The song was actually released as a single in 1972, but it reached the top of the billboard hot 100 in 1973. Stevie Wonder played most of the instruments on the recording himself.
