OK Solberg:today today. Fun facts about 20 of the states in The United States Of America. Are you ready? Sit down and pay attention. In Montana, the Gates Of The Mountains were named by Meriwether Lewis in 1805 because the cliffs appeared to open like gates as the expedition passed through.
OK Solberg:North Dakota is home to the geographic center of North America near the town of Rugby, and it's marked by a stone monument center in North America. In Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park became the world's 1st national park and it came about in 1872. Did you know Idaho produces about one 3rd of all potatoes grown in The United States? Texas was once an independent nation known as the Republic of Texas from 1836 to 1845. Did you know Florida's only state that borders both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf Of Mexico.
OK Solberg:New York was briefly the capital of The United States from 1785 to 1790. Pennsylvania is home to the Liberty Bell, a symbol of American independence. Nevada contains over 300 mountain ranges making it one of the most mountainous states in The union. Colorado contains the highest paved road in America elevation wise, reaching over 14,000 feet on Mount Blue Sky. Arizona's home to the Grand Canyon.
OK Solberg:Yep. And it stretches about 277 miles long. Utah has the Great Salt Lake, which is saltier than the ocean and allows people to float easily. I can even remember my 3rd grade teacher, Mrs Lucille Eaton said she could float just like an inner tube tire. Oregon has Crater Lake, the deepest lake in The United States formed in a collapsed volcano.
