The 405 Aired Nov 4th, 2025

OK Solberg:

I want again. Welcome here to The 405 Coffee Break. I think it's Tuesday, isn't it? November 4. Might be election day. Get your cup of coffee, glass iced tea, bottled water. Let's see what's happening.

OK Solberg:

Spring wheat $5.17 a bushel. 550lb steer calf top end $4.36 to $4.42. A butcher hog in Iowa, 65ยข a pound. And a lamb that's fat in Billings weighing a 100 pounds will fetch you $2.17 a pound. But, guys, there's more, much more.

OK Solberg:

Okay. Okay. Okay. Did you see the World Series game on Saturday night? I haven't talked about it here yet on The 405 because yesterday was Motor Monday. We can't infect Motor Monday with baseball, but I can't keep it inside any longer. I'll tell you this. Now baseball's over.

OK Solberg:

Right? And spring training doesn't start for another, well, about a hundred and eight days. No. That's an approximate because they haven't officially announced the exact exact date yet. Isn't that funny?

OK Solberg:

So, anyway, we will be without baseball for a while. Let's live it up one last time. Listen now as I quote the highlights from Saturday night's game, game of a lifetime, and

OK Solberg:

it starts with a bible verse. Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because when they have stood the test, they will receive the crown of life. James 1:12 Perfect verse for game 7.

OK Solberg:

On Saturday night, in front of the world's gaze, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays delivered what may well be one of the great game 7's in World Series history. Toronto struck first. In the 3rd inning, the Blue Jays, Beau Bouchette, belted a 3 run homer off the dart Dodgers' ace two way star Shohei Ohtani, giving Toronto a 3-0 lead and putting Ohtani on unusually short rest. Los Angeles chipped away, sacrificed flies and key hits, brought the Dodgers within reach, but the Blue Jays answered back in the 6th with an RBI double to restore a 2 run edge.

OK Solberg:

In the 8th Dodgers' Max Muncy launched a solo home run, cutting the gap to one, setting the stage for a dramatic finish. Then came the 9th inning with Toronto leading 4-3 and just 2 outs away from the title. Guys, they only get it needed to get 2 more outs, and the Toronto Blue Jays would have been the world series champions. The dodgers, Miguel Rojas, stepped in and smashed a game tying home run, the 1st ever tying homer in the 9th or late of game 7 in world series history. But the drama didn't stop.

OK Solberg:

Toronto loaded the bases. Toronto loaded the bases in the 10th with one out and seemed posed to close the door, but Los Angeles bullpen held firm a pair of spectacular defensive plays, guys. You gotta pull it up on YouTube. Watch it. Including a sprawling catch in left field, kept the Blue Jays at bay and carried the game into extra innings. Oh, no. Not again. Yes. Extra inning. In the 11th inning with a knight hanging in the balance, the Dodgers finally reclaimed the lead.

OK Solberg:

The designated hitter, catcher, Will Smith, launched a two o slider from Shane Bieber into the Blue Jays bullpen in left field, the first extra inning homer ever in a winner take all game 7. With that one swing, the title tilted in the bottom of the 11th. Remember, Blue Jays have a chance. The Dodgers reliever Yamamoto pitching on tired legs induced a 6-4 3 double play to seal the 5-4 victory and send the Dodgers back to back champions for the 1st time in 25 years. This wasn't just another game 7, it was a wild, unpredictable ride.

OK Solberg:

Leads lost and regained. Heroics on both sides, pitchers becoming hitters, defenders becoming saviors. It reminded everyone that perseverance, unity, and belief can carry a team through when the stakes are highest. Exactly the kind of moment the bible verse spoke of at the beginning. And for any true baseball fan, this was the game of a lifetime that we all dream of watching. End of quote, batter up.

OK Solberg:

Take me out to the ball game. Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and crackerjack. I don't care if I never get back. Let me root. Root root for the home team. If they don't win, it's a shame. For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out at the old ball game.

OK Solberg:

Until next time, as you go out there, remember now, don't be bitter.
